Crayons to Classrooms Says “Thanks-A-Million” to Local Teachers

On May 10th, Crayons to Classrooms hosted 139 teachers for a teacher appreciation event, Thanks-A-Million. Each teacher received bags full of gifts that were generously donated by individual supporters and local organizations. Teachers left the store with their hands full of over $170 worth of different kinds of notebooks and stationary, a desktop air purifier, candy, a free carwash coupon, books, and a snack bag. When they shop at Crayons to Classrooms in the fall, they will also get to take an extra item of their choice.

Over fifteen volunteers from our store, Pepsi Co. and the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation handed out free gifts and snack bags and cheered for teachers who won our giveaways.

Kids in Need Foundation (KIN) hosted their first Thanks-A-Million Teacher Appreciation Event in May 2022 in Minneapolis. Crayons to Classrooms is apart of KIN’s national network of resource centers and followed in the organization’s lead in putting on this event. Local organizations that donated gifts for our teachers include Oregon Printing, Marco’s Paper, Pepsi Co., and Flying Ace Car Wash. ACCO, 3M, and Marine Toys for Tots Foundation also donated product for all teachers attending to enjoy.
