Lexis Nexis Provides STEM Resources to Local Teachers

July 19, 2022

RELX (Reed Elsevier Lexis Nexis) recently supported Crayons to Classrooms with a grant to provide area teachers additional resources to support STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) learning in the classroom.

The mission of Crayons to Classrooms is to secure and distribute school supplies through our Teacher Resource Center at no cost to teachers of students in need around the Greater Dayton, Ohio region. This funding will increase availability of STEM-related products in the resource center, including volunteer-made products in the Classroom Solutions section.

In a recent survey, 91% of teachers said the STEM supplies from Crayons to Classrooms allow them to create more interactive lessons and give students’ hands-on experiences they wouldn’t otherwise have. Throughout the 2021-2022 school year, Crayons to Classrooms distributed more than $108,762 in STEM products free of charge to teachers in 119 area schools.

The RELX Cares supports employee volunteering and giving that makes a positive impact on society. In addition, the program focuses on education for disadvantaged youth. In the Dayton area, Lexis Nexis employees regularly volunteer at Crayons to Classrooms and host supply drives.
