Crayons to Classrooms’ STEM and Environmental Programs Receive Support from Honda

Crayons to Classrooms’ (C2C) STEM initiatives and environmental program, Reduce and Reuse for Education, recently received a contribution from Honda that will enable C2C to purchase core STEM supplies like index cards and graph paper and expand the availability of products that will engage students in STEM learning. The contribution also allows the organization to provide local teachers with more specialized products, such as robotics kits and other valuable lab equipment.

Honda’s contribution will also sustain and improve C2C’s Reduce and Reuse for Education program. This environmental program focuses on repurposing items for the classroom that would otherwise end up in a landfill. The program creates the opportunity for C2C to partner with local organizations, such as JOANN Fabrics, to collect and distribute classroom products, holiday decorations, and craft supplies that other organizations no longer want. This contribution from Honda will allow C2C to expand the Reduce and Reuse for Education program to meet the growing demand for STEM supplies by teachers of students in need.

Honda’s Corporate Social Responsibility vision is to help people reach their own life’s potential. Locally, Honda associates have volunteered at Crayons to Classrooms, creating Classroom Solutions products for teachers in the Greater Dayton area.
