Dayton Workforce Partnerships (DWP) recently awarded Crayons to Classrooms with a $5,000 grant that will be used to provide supplies to high school teachers who shop at the Teacher Resource Center. DWP seeks to support the needs of the community by bringing Dayton companies, philanthropies, colleges/universities, and talent together to create opportunities. This grant supports Crayons to Classrooms’ goal that every student will have the supplies necessary to be successful in high school.
The mission of Crayons to Classrooms is to secure and distribute school supplies through our Teacher Resource Center at no cost to teachers of students in need around the Greater Dayton, Ohio region. Approximately 83% of the students served live in low-income households with families struggling to provide essentials.
Dayton Workforce Partnerships exists for educational and charitable purposes; to promote and fund organizations enhancing the health, education and welfare of people of any age, their ability to advance themselves, take care of themselves, find homes, jobs or families or to further their education, and to fund programs of tax-exempt governmental entities or of non-profit medical, charitable or educational institutions that are tax-exempt organizations under the Internal Revenue Code.
Through grant funding, Crayons to Classrooms seeks to provide essential school supplies to students at 14 Montgomery County under resourced high schools. Funds from Dayton Workforce Partnerships will help provide these essential items during the 2022-2023 school year.
