The Berry Family Foundation has continued their support of local educators by providing Crayons to Classrooms (C2C) with a generous $20,000 grant. This funding supports the Teacher Resource Center during the current 2025-26 school year. The Foundation has supported C2C since its beginning in 2008, before the first teacher stepped foot into the resource center. In the last 17 years, the Foundation has gifted over $130,000 to support local teachers of students at under-resourced schools.
In a recent survey, 94% of local teachers reported that they can create a more equitable learning environment because of supplies from Crayons to Classrooms. Support from the Foundation helps C2C provide teachers with the tools needed to level the playing field in the classroom for all students.
As inflation increases, more students face economic challenges, and more schools qualify for C2C’s services. C2C actively contacts schools to encourage registration and are currently supporting 144 schools in the 2025-2026 school year. The resource center plans to add schools to that list to join the program in the fall, and additional funding helps secure and distribute school supplies to all participating schools.
The Berry Family Foundation believes in “supporting youth programs and education that encourage responsibility, honesty, self-confidence, teamwork and achievement.” The Foundation partners with C2C to ensure educational equity for low-income students by funding countless teacher shopping trips at the Teacher Resource Center.
