The Dayton Dragons recognized Crayons to Classrooms as a Community All-Star recipient on Wednesday, August 10, 2022. Steve Rubenstein, Executive Director of C2C, and three Miami Valley Teachers, Katrice, Joey, and Pete were acknowledged from the dugout at the top of the 4th inning. The Dragons presented Steve with a $1,000 check and a wooden Dayton Dragons baseball bat. Steve also had the opportunity to do a radio interview in the press box with Tom Nichols.
Crayons to Classrooms’ staff, teachers, and board members enjoyed the game from box seats provided by the Dayton Dragons. Unfortunately the Dragons lost in the 10th inning, but the game was exciting with back-to-back homeruns for the Dragons and fun crowd interaction.
The Dragons Community All-Stars Program honors individuals who have gone above and beyond to improve the quality of life in the Miami Valley. They could be firefighters or police officers, doctors, or good Samaritans. It could be a first responder or a volunteer. The Dragons are going to highlight these Community All-Stars at games all summer long.
Crayons to Classrooms is honored to be recognized as a Dayton Dragons Community All-Star. Support from the community allows C2C to continue to provide free school supplies to local teachers. At Crayons to Classrooms’ free store, eligible teachers can shop for core supplies for their students and their classrooms. You can get involved with Crayons to Classrooms through making a financial donation, donating supplies, or volunteering.
