Crayons to Classrooms (C2C) is excited to announce a $25,000 contribution from Honda to support our Reduce and Reuse for Education program during the 2025–26 school year. This funding helps sustain and expand the program, ensuring that teachers and students in need have access to essential classroom supplies.
The Reduce and Reuse for Education program is an environmental initiative that focuses on repurposing items for classrooms that might otherwise end up in landfills. The program repurposes or reuses these items for local students who do not have enough of the supplies they need to be successful in the classroom. C2C also partners with local organizations like Half Price Books and Puzzles Plus to collect and distribute books, classroom products, holiday decorations, craft supplies, and other items that organizations no longer need.
“We are grateful to Honda for helping us give school, office, and craft supplies a second life in our local classrooms,” said C2C Director of Operations, Dave Hargrove. “This contribution will allow teachers and students to make the most of resources that might otherwise go to waste, supporting both learning and sustainability in our community.”
With Honda’s support, C2C will be able to expand the program to meet growing demand for STEM supplies, helping more teachers provide high-quality educational experiences to students in need. From gently used items to extra office supplies, these products now have a second life, helping teachers and students thrive while keeping materials out of the landfill.
Honda’s Corporate Social Responsibility vision is to help people reach their life’s potential. Locally, Honda associates have volunteered at Crayons to Classrooms, creating Classroom Solutions products for teachers in the Greater Dayton area. Thanks to partners like Honda, the Reduce and Reuse for Education program continues to turn surplus and gently used items into opportunities for learning, creativity, and environmental stewardship.
